Senior Policy Analyst - Regional Planning Lead

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Policy Analyst - Regional Planning Lead with advanced skills to complement the Policy and Planning team.
The successful candidate will take a leading role in providing analysis and advice on freshwater policy as well as other complex and evolving policy issues.
In particular, the successful candidate will be taking the lead and working with others on a development of a Proposed Natural Resources Plan for Taranaki.
The role will also be key in supporting the capability development of the team through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing and driving initiatives to support collective growth.
Mōu | About you
To be successful in this role you’ll need highly developed skills and experience in policy analysis within a similar sector, ideally with a resource management or fresh water focus. Ideally you will have at least 5 years policy experience.
You will thrive in an intellectually rigorous and pragmatic team environment and enjoy a mix of meeting tight deadlines and projects with longer timeframes.
Knowledge and experience working with fresh water policy and the issues encountered in this field of work would be highly desirable along with solid experience leading projects and mentoring staff.
A tertiary qualification in policy analysis or a related field is a must along with exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills. A high level of written and oral communication ability in English is also essential. Te Reo Māori skills and knowledge and comfort with tikanga Māori would be an added advantage in this role.
