Environment Quality is one of our four directorates at the Taranaki Regional Council. The team collects, monitors, compiles and assesses a range of data related to different aspects of Taranaki’s environment (ie. climate, air, land and water).

Mō te tūnga | About the role
Our seven month fixed term, parental leave cover position of Project Coordinator is responsible for managing projects for the Environmental Quality and Business Information & Technology Services teams. On a day to day basis this role will also provide project support to a team of environmental scientists, maintain and update environmental monitoring projects in the Council’s financial and compliance databases, develop status and analytical reports and develop quality assurance processes.
This role is full of variety. Collaboration is key with the Environment Quality directorate, the Business, Information & Technology Services team and also wider staff across the Council to manage projects. You will of course be supported in your work by the Manager- Environmental Assurance and the Director- Environment Quality.
Mōu | About you
You will have experience managing projects or budgets and an accounting/finance or IT background is ideal for this role. You will be able to liaise and build rapport with a range of people and enjoy collaborating with multiple staff members. An agile and flexible approach is a must and you will have a keen eye for detail. This role also requires a relevant tertiary qualification (in areas such as Accounting, Finance, IT or Science).
We like to set people up for success so you'll be a leading applicant if you also have:
- Ability to collate data and information and the confidence to communicate it in a way stakeholders understand and are willing to engage with
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office suite, MS Project or equivalent software
- Strong customer service skills
- Thrive off solution based approaches
