Graduate Environmental Planner - Consents
We are looking for a Graduate Environmental Planner to join our Consents section at the Taranaki Regional Council. This position is permanent full time.

Our main office is based right in the centre of the region, under the Maunga (mountain), in Whakaahurangi (Stratford).

Mō te tūnga | About the role
This role involves triaging and responding to planning applications and enquiries, assisting customers with their online applications and for processing small scale resource consent applications and undertaking s88 checks across all activities of the Resource Management Act 1991. The role is also responsible for assisting with the preparation for hearings and supporting the process.
Mōu | About you
Ideally the successful candidate will have recently completed, or about to complete, a tertiary qualification in Resource Management (or a related field) and looking to get their foot in the door. While some related work experience is desired, we like to set people up for success so you’ll be a leading applicant if you also have:
- Accurate word processing skills
- Practical knowledge of software applications
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a bustling work environment
- Analytical thinking with attention to detail
- A willingness to learn
